| Introduction | The Graduate Institute of Education was officially established on August 1st, 1996 under the approval from the Ministry of Education. Appointed as the first Director of the Institute, Professor Kuang-Hsiung Huang committed himself to improve the educational environment, research facilities, well-designed curriculum and specialized fields of the faculty for the prospects of cultivating academic professionals in education. Founded in 1999, the Doctoral program and in-service Master program aim to nurture educational specialists and to offer teachers in Yunlin and Chiayi School Districts further academic learning and training. To strengthen the instructional capacity of the faculty and diversification of curriculum, the Institute was combined with the Graduate Institute of Curriculum Studies in 2013 and launched enrollment on August 1st, 2014. The combination of the two graduate institutes has promoted its competitiveness among domestic institutes of education and to form the solid foundation for its uniqueness on teaching, research, and service. |

| Introduction | The E-Learning Master Program of Education and School Leadership (EESL) is a full English-taught program at National Chung Cheng University (CCU) and provides those who work at the schools and the educational institutions around the nation and world with opportunities to build up professional skills through online learning, mainly contributed by the academic staff from the Graduate Institute of Education, the Department of Adult and Continuing Education, the Center for Teacher Education, and the other units of the College. Our faculty members are not merely experienced lecturers but also experts in research and educational practices, particularly on the trends and issues in the fields of Education and School Leadership. This program offers students not only a holistic online educational experiences of Taiwan but also a designed distance learning platform. In addition, this program is structured into required and optional courses and offers students a total of two times, face-to-face opportunities within the two-year study period, including the orientation week in the first semester and thesis oral defense week in the fourth semester. Basically, the students must attend these two time face-to-face meetings. For the courses attendances, students would be required to follow the related regulation and only three times Leave Application would be allowed per semester. If a scholarship recipient absents for more than three times per class in a semester, his/her scholarships will be suspended in the next semester. |

| Introduction | The inception of the National Chung Cheng University can be traced back to 1986, with the plan passed by the Executive Yuan of R.O.C., in commemoration of the former president, Chiang Kai-shek, and to balance the development of higher education in Taiwan. In February of the following year, 1987, the government organized a committee and invited Mr. Lee Teng-Hui to be the convener who was in charge of related planning and constructing missions. On July 1st, 1987, the university was officially founded with Dr. Lin Ching-Jiang serving as the first president of the university. During the same period, the Institute of Computer Science and Information Engineering (CSIE) was established and was one of the five earliest graduate degree programs in CCU. The undergraduate program and the Ph.D. program started in 1992 and 1993, respectively. It was the first academic establishment to offer a complete line of higher education programs in computer science in southern Taiwan. Throughout these years, the CSIE department has contributed significantly to higher education and performed excellently in academic research. | Introduction | The Department of Electrical Engineering at National Chung Cheng University started as a graduate institute in July 1990, and the undergraduate program was established in July 1992. The Ph.D. program was added in 1993 and the size of the undergraduate program doubled in 1999. As of 2018, there are 306 students in the undergraduate program, 274 students in the graduate institute, and 32 students in the Ph.D. program in our department. It is one of the best institutes in Taiwan for the education and training of professionals in electrical engineering. | Introduction | The research focus of the Department of Biomedical Sciences encompasses various fields in biomedical science, including molecular pathological mechanism of diseases and their therapy, protein structure and function, development mechanism, virus replication, epigenomics, nano-medicine, systems biology, bioinformatics, and biophysics. In collaboration with the Epigenomics and Human Diseases Research Center and the research teams of the nearby hospitals, research projects incorporating clinical and basic studies are carried out to study topics in molecular medicine, stem cells, epigenomics, and systems biology. |
