2026 Spring: CCU Buddy Program
Are you looking to enrich your experiences?
Want to meet friends from around the world?
Hoping to improve or practice your English?
Join us as a Buddy for International Students, Spring 2026! 💪
We’re looking for buddies to assist international degree-seeking or exchange students with their enrollment procedures and help them adapt to campus life after the semester starts. 😊
If you're passionate about international exchange and dedicated to serving others, we welcome you to become a buddy!
📌Eligibility:
- Must be an enrolled student at National Chung Cheng University in the 2025 fall semester (September 2025). The program primarily welcomes local students and overseas Chinese students with good Chinese proficiency. Students of all genders and departments are welcome to apply.
- Must be able to stay in touch with international students via email and Line before the semester begins and be available on campus before February 23rd , to welcome and assist arriving international students.
- Must be able to allocate time during the period from February to March 2026 to accompany international students, helping them familiarize themselves with the campus, complete course selection, registration, and participate in health checks for new students.
- You are required to consistently accompany and support international freshmen throughout the entire first semester of the 114th academic year ( February 2026 to June 2026 ). This includes helping them with academic matters, daily life, and overall adjustment, while actively building friendly interactions and a trusting relationship. This role is a semester-long commitment, not a short-term assignment limited to September and October. Participation in relevant training sessions and activities may also be required when necessary.
❗Notes:
- We are recruiting buddies for both degree-seeking and exchange students. Buddies assigned to exchange students will follow a different set of guidelines. The pairing between buddies and international students will be done randomly—no personal selection is allowed.
- Buddies are required to start contacting their assigned international students before they arrive in Taiwan.
- The Office of International Affairs (OIA) will provide all necessary administrative information; buddies just need to assist students in understanding and completing the tasks.
- To ensure the quality and effectiveness of the buddy system, we have a selection and elimination mechanism in place. If a buddy's performance does not meet the expected standards, they may not be able to continue in the role. We kindly ask for your understanding and cooperation.
- The buddy program lasts for two semesters. In the first semester, buddies mainly assist the current cohort of international students; in the second semester, they support the new buddies in guiding the next group of international students.
- The buddy system will be led by the student buddy group, and it will be passed on and sustained by student initiative to the next cohort.
- During the initial stage of establishing contact, please check your email and Line daily to avoid missing any messages from international students, and be sure to check your spam folder.
- Pay attention to the emotional and mental well-being of international students. If you notice anything unusual, you may suggest that they seek counseling resources.
- OIA will provide certificates related to the buddy program as a reward for participation.
