Guidelines for applying for the ORS scholarship
National Chung Cheng University Overseas Research Scholarships (ORS) will be open for applications from September 12 to 26, 2025.
1. Required Documents
(1) Application form (see Attachment II).
(2) Transcript of your previous semester or education.
(3) Research findings progress and planning report.
(4) Publications and conference presentations, including the number of the Journal articles submitted & published and conferences papers, book chapters, along with the corresponding forms (please see Attachment III). This form (Attachment III) serves as an example reference and outlines the basic required sections. Please arrange all documents in order, specify the document and clearly highlight the section or page where the information can be found.
2. ORS Scholarship Application Process
Applicants must print out the application form and submit the application form (hard copy) with the required documents to your affiliated Department office.
3. Eligibility
Applicants must be full-time Ph.D. students with an excellent academic records and research potentials.
*A person in any of the following categories is ineligible to apply for ORS Scholarship:
(a) Applicant has full-time job in a public or private organization.
(b) In the academic year of admission, applicant opted for suspension of studies, reserving the admission status, or did not finish registration procedures.
*According to the relevant regulation, a person who has received the government’s scholarship (MOE Scholarship), is not permitted to apply this ORS scholarship.
4. ORS Scholarship provides three levels to choose:
Level A Scholarship: NTD 40,000 per month.
Level B Scholarship: NTD 30,000 per month.
Level C Scholarship: NTD 20,000 per month.
* The First-year applicant can only choose Level C Scholarship.
5. Scholarship Duration
Scholarship duration is one year and the amount of scholarship will be awarded monthly. Students must reapply each academic year to continue receiving funding.
6. Obligation of the ORS Scholarship recipients
During the period of receiving the ORS Scholarship, recipients have to publish their research results in international journals indexed by WOS or Scopus, and the publications should bear the name of CCU.
7. Application Period
All applications must be submitted no later than 16:00, 26 September, 2025.
