This lecture will explore how female directors influence corporate ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) performance, using the lens of care ethics to explain how gender differences shape corporate decision-making. We will compare two studies from Taiwan and China, which, despite having the same theoretical background, produced opposite results. What interesting reasons lie behind these differences? Additionally, we will examine how factors such as corporate culture further affect the relationship between the gender of directors and ESG engagement.
