MINXIONG, TAIWAN — September 4, 2026 — National Chung Cheng University (CCU) hosted its "2026 Fall Semester International Exchange Student Orientation" today, welcoming 39 exchange and visiting students from 25 partner institutions across 10 countries and regions. Joined by local student buddies, the orientation was designed to help international students acclimate to campus life and living in Taiwan while initiating cross-cultural interactions that mark the beginning of an enriched academic semester.

During the event, Prof. Yi-Mei Lin, Associate Vice President for International Affairs, and Prof. Kuo-Yang Li, Director of the Division of International Academic Cooperation, delivered opening remarks. Extending a warm welcome to the incoming cohort, they encouraged students to actively engage in CCU’s academic offerings while immersing themselves in Taiwan's local culture and everyday life.

This semester’s international cohort represents 10 countries and regions: France, Indonesia, Mainland China, Malaysia, Vietnam, South Korea, Switzerland, Denmark, Spain, and India. Uniting 39 students across diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds, the cohort adds vibrant international diversity to the CCU campus community.

To ensure a smooth transition, the Office of International Affairs (OIA) provided comprehensive briefings covering essential administrative and logistical topics, including campus facilities, course registration, residence permits and visas, health insurance, campus safety, and practical guidelines for daily life in Taiwan.

The orientation also highlighted the integral role of the CCU Student Buddy Program. By pairing incoming students with local peers, the initiative helps international students navigate campus life while affording local students hands-on cross-cultural communication experience—seamlessly integrating international engagement into daily campus interactions.

The welcoming of international exchange students reflects CCU’s ongoing commitment to deepening its internationalization strategy. Through institutional partnerships with global sister universities and peer support networks on campus, CCU continues to foster an inclusive environment where local and international students broaden their global perspectives through shared learning experiences.

As the Fall 2026 semester officially commences, the Office of International Affairs will continue to provide full support to incoming exchange and visiting students, facilitating a rewarding semester of academic growth, cultural immersion, and lasting cross-border friendships.
