Preventing the Invasion of African Swine Fever and Other Major Foreign Animal Diseases

Foreign Students Are Urged to Cooperate with Quarantine Regulations

To protect Taiwan's agricultural biosecurity and prevent the spread of African Swine Fever (ASF) and other major animal diseases, the Ministry of Agriculture reminds you:

  • Do not bring any animals, plants, or related products into Taiwan, especially pork or pork products.
  • Inform your family and friends abroad not to send pork products or other animal quarantine items to Taiwan by mail, as this may result in penalties.

(From countries or regions where ASF outbreaks have occurred within the past 3 years):

  • First offense: NT$200,000 fine
  • Second offense: NT$1,000,000 fine
  • For individuals without resident status: If a NT$200,000 fine cannot be paid on the spot, the individual will be denied entry into Taiwan.
