We invite you to explore the rich history and local culture of Taiwan on a special day trip to an old sugar refinery, where you’ll experience the charm of an historical village and its fascinating connection to Taiwan's sugar industry. Your day will begin with a walking tour around the village, where you’ll learn about the history of the sugar refinery that once played a major role in the region’s development. As you wander through the village, you’ll have the opportunity to admire its unique architecture and hear stories about the local community's past. Along the way, we will gather plants from the area to prepare for a hands-on natural dyeing experience, where you’ll learn how to use these plants to create beautiful, natural colors.

Afterward, we’ll dive into Taiwanese culinary traditions with a workshop to make Caozaiguo — a beloved local snack made with mugwort and filled with sweet red bean or savory radish. Together, we’ll shape and cook this delicious treat, which we will all enjoy together at the end of the activity. This will be a fun and educational day, where you’ll not only learn about Taiwan's heritage but also experience it firsthand through history, nature, and food.
